QUALIFICATIONS
-
Qualifications of the Employee (parent)
1.
must
hold a permanent status of appointment in the first
level position at the time of filing of application
2.
must
have served the Provincial Government continuously for
at least three (3) years
3.
must
obtain a performance rating of at least Very
Satisfactory in the last rating period
4.
must
have no pending administrative or criminal charges

Qualifications of the Child
1.
must be
a legitimate or legally adopted child of a Provincial
employee
2.
must
have graduated in any high school in the province with a
general average of at least 80% and has not entered
college after high school
3.
must be
single and should not exceed 21 years of age at the time
of filing of application
4.
must be
a resident of the province including Bacolod City, of
good moral character as certified by the principal of
the school where he graduated and by the Punong Barangay
where residing.

ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM
The Nursing student scholar must
satisfy the above-stated general qualifications and must
pass the requirement s of the Provincial Government.
He/She must also pass the entrance examination and
screening procedure of the school. The applicant must
not be a recipient of any other scholarship grant of the
province.
Selection and Screening
The
following criteria will be used as the basis for
determining qualified applicants for the program.
1.
I.Q. (OLSAT
Result) - 35%
2.
Interview (attitude and interest)
- 35%
3.
Scholastic Rating (Form 138) -
30%
Total - 100%

CONDITIONS (RETENTION OF SCHOLARSHIP)
The
qualified scholar must comply the following conditions;
1. must
enroll in the College of Nursing under the Negros
occidental Provincial Medical and Nursing Scholarship
Program
2.
must
not enter into marriage or co-habit in any form during
the entire scholarship period
3. must
furnish the WNU Scholarship Committee a copy of the
official grades duly signed by the evaluator/ Dean of
the College every semester
4.
must
comply all the other conditions that the Scholarship
Committee may prescribed
Note:
Non-compliance of any of the above conditions
automatically revokes the benefits of the program.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
1.
Application forms may be obtained and filed at the
Provincial Human Resource Management Office (PHRMO)
through the Scholarship Secretariat.
2.
Items

Certification that there are no other scholars of the

qualified NOPMaNS scholar shall enjoy the following:

LIMITATIONS
1.
Only
one (1) member of the family up to the 4th civil degree
of consanguinity or affinity can avail of the
scholarship program.
2.
Re-instatement to the program of a disqualified scholar
is strictly prohibited.
3.
Only
incoming freshman to the College of Nursing is
qualified.
4.
In
cases of dropped / failed or can’t meet the retention
policy, the vacant slot should not be replaced by
another applicant within the contract years (4 years).

RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Grantor
a.
Determines the scholars to be admitted.
b.
Monitors the grantees’ scholastic progress.
c.
Requires the grantees to serve any government hospital
or clinic of Negros Occidental for 100 volunteer hours
per scholastic year.
d.
Imposes
appropriate sanctions in cases when the grantee fails to
comply with stipulated obligations.
2.
Grantees
a.
Maintain a general average of 2.5 / 85 or its
equivalent, with no failing grades or dropped subjects.
In case of failure to comply with this requirement,
grantees shall be dropped from the list of scholars for
the succeeding semester.
b.
Shall
submit their grades at the end of every semester to the
school’s Scholarship Officer, who in turn will submit a
report to the provincial Governor through the Human
Resource Management Officer of the Province.
c.
Shall
maintain a full load per semester during their studies.
d.
Shall
complete all requirements of the course within the
period specified.
e.
Shall
remain single until graduation and maintain high moral
standards.
f.
Follow
the rules and regulations of the school enrolled in.
g.
Render
100 volunteer hours per scholarship year in any
government clinic or hospital of Negros Occidental.
3.
Accredited Schools
a.
Admit
the grantee upon compliance of admission requirements.
b.
Thru
the Scholarship Grant, shall provide financial aid in
the form of free tuition and other school fees for the
Medical/Nursing studies of the grantees.
c.
.Provide sufficient educational services and assistance
to the grantees.
d.
Assist
the Provincial Government in monitoring the progress of
the grantee.
e.
Submit
reports to the Provincial Government as requested.
