Teaching Environmental Education to Negrenses (TEEN)
and Puppet Theatre

The Environmental Awareness campaign started in August 2002 with a grant from the German Development Service (DED) for the Project  “Environmental Awarenss Campaign for the Preservation of wildlife through Puppet Theater, Literature and Interactive Role Play”.  This was a joint project of  FOREST, Inc.,  NFEFI-Biodiversity Center and Animo Puppet Theater.  We conducted seminars and workshops and were involved in the production of the Abyan sa Kagulangan and Sea Kingdom.  We conducted several puppet theater shows in West Negros College and other places.  However, we just borrow the puppets and the stage from Animo Puppet Theater.

In 2005, we were able to get a grant from  DED worth twenty five thousand pesos (P 25,000.00) for the purchase of materials for the establishment of puppet theatre in West Negros College.  Our shows were on Ecological Waste Management and we were able to stage puppet shows in West Negros College and other schools.

In July 2003, we were able to get a grant from DED worth P 97,537.00 for the project “Promotion of  Environmental Education at West Negros College”.  The grant was used for the purchase of computer, printer, scanner, overhead projector and sound system.  From this grant, we were able to organize a pool of Resource Persons and facilitators and  conduct seminars and workshops for different colleges/departments  within West Negros College.

The Project TEEN was implemented in West Negros College in June 2006 through a proposal submitted by Mr. Allan Geagoni, Chair, VAED Department , College of Education.  With this, a seminar with an  Ecogarden Tour was conducted yearly for all VAED students.  Seminar with an  Ecogarden Tour was also done for some High School students.

This proposal aims to intensify Environmental Awareness Campaign thru seminars and workshops not only in West Negros University but other schools specially high school students.

Screen savers do not save energy. Certain graphics-intensive screen savers can cause the computer to burn twice as much as energy and may prevent a computer from entering sleep mode!
