The
Visayas
 Championship
phase of the 2009 Philippine Collegiate Championship
League (PCCL) games opens, Tuesday with the formal
turn-over of the P10, 000 checks by West Negros
University (WNU) to ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya
at LNAM Sports Center.
WNU’s athletic director, Mr. Anthony Carlo Agustin
handed the check to Ms. Caryl Diamante, project director
of ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya and further
assured more donations in cash and kind for the victims
of typhoons Ondoy and Peping in Luzon.
Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Tisha Angeli Sy led the
ceremonial tossing of the ball with PCCL chairman
Reynaldo D. Gamboa and PCCL- National Tournament
Director Joe Lipa, between the Stallions (Siliman
University) and Dolphins (John B. Lacson Foundation).
Teams from the Visayas League of Champions include; West
Negros University – Mustangs (NOPSSCEA), Siliman
University (Dumaguete), Western Leyte Colleges (Ormoc),
John B. Lacson Foundation (ISSA), Leyte Colleges (LUSCAA)
and Bohol Institute of Technology (Bohol).
Proceeds of the ticket sales will be donated to the
victims of typhoon through ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip
Kapamilya Project in partnership with MOR, Skycable,
Coca-Cola Company and the Province of Negros
Occidental.
Tickets are at P20 (General Admission) and P40 (Lower
Level).
The
games will run from October 13-15, 2009, at 4 games per
day.*
