Negros University through the College of Criminal
Justice Education (CCJE) will host the 1st
National Convention of the Federation of Authors in
Criminology and Criminal Justice, Inc. (FACCI) on
November 26-27, 2009 at GGA-Audio Visual Center.
The
1st FACCI convention with the theme;
“Strengthening Criminal Justice Education program in the
Philippines” is aimed to introduce the different
criminology-related books authored by Filipinos and
further encouraged the deans to make use of such books
which is concentrated within the Philippine context.
The
two-day activity include; Presentation /Briefing of the
FACCI led by its president, Dr. Mercedes A. Foronda,
seminars, lectures and open forum.
The
following books that will be launched are: Importance of
Review Materials – The Best Source of Information for
Passing the Criminology Licensure Examination by Dr.
Marilyn Balares; Publish or Perish: A New Horizon for
Criminologists in Research and Publication by Dr. Dennis
I. Ibutnanda; Transnational Crimes by Dr. Mario Garcia;
Fire Behavior and Arson Investigation – Dean Leonardo
Bustria and Dynamics of Law Enforcement and Public
Safety Administration by Prof. Gilbert C. San Diego,
among others.
Topics like Faculty Development Program on Quality
Education: Its impact to the Criminology Field and
Personnel Promotions Relevance of Publications and
Research in Relation to CMO No. 47 Series of 2005 and
Issues Concerning other CMO’s will be discussed by Dr.
Miller F. Peckley and Hon. Lourdes Aniceto,
respectively.
The
2-day event will be facilitated by the WNU-CCJE led by
its dean, Nicholas S. Caballero who will also give the
