Let
us remember that, as much has been given us, much will
be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the
heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in
deeds.
~ Theodore Roosevelt
West
N egros University for the past years has been blessed
with so many things that it is but fitting to give back
all the blessings to the different adopted communities
of the institution.
Thanksgiving is a matter of attitude.
These are the words shared by Pastor Rodolfo Cordova
during the 4th Thanksgiving Service held
November 25, 2009 at the Students’ Activity Center led
by Dr. Suzette Lilian Agustin, WNU President, members of
the administration, faculty, staff and students.
Worship leader, Pastor Harry Anobling gave a brief
history on how thanksgiving celebration started in the
United States which is usually commemorated on the last
Thursday of November and how it continues and adopted by
other countries as well.
Pastor Cordova in his message commends the institution’s
slogan “I’m Wesnecan, I Can,” since it only shows the
Wesnecans positive attitude of making things possible
through the help of God.
He
likewise gave meaning to the word thanks: T-rust in God,
H-ope in the Lord, A-ppreciate the opportunities over
difficulties, N-egotiate with God, K-neel in humility
and S-hare God’s blessings.
Blessings are then gathered by the Wesnecan family to be
shared to the different adopted communities.
The
activity was ended with a dedicatory prayer and
benediction by Pastor Cordova.* (rrm/aipro)
