More than a thousand fourth year students from Doña
Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School (DHSBNHS)
visited West Negros University (WNU) for four
consecutive Saturdays from October 24 – November 14,
2009 organized by the Araling Panlipunan Department of
DHSBNHS.
Mr. Rosendo B. Cabrera, DHSBNHS faculty and team leader
– Fourth Year Level believed that learning inside the
classroom will be more effective when reinforced with
activities such as this where social responsibility is
developed.
The students were toured to the different colleges and
departments helping them familiarize with the various
courses offered by WNU, its facilities and opportunities
it offer to them.
The students were given a chance to have a hands-on
experience at the Institute of Languages where they were
given short speech exercises and which they enjoyed the
most.
They were also entertained by members of the Mustangs
sharing with them the benefits of being an athletic
scholar.
Visiting the WNU-HM Restaurant and briefed by Mr. Guido
Nijssen perked up the interests of some to pursue
hospitality management and other related courses.
The educational field trip of DHSBNHS is an annual
activity by the school in coordination with WNU’s
Alumni, Information and PR Office (AIPRO) and in
cooperation with Institute of Languages (formerly CELL)
and Library Services, among others.*
