Sharing God’s Blessings in This Season of Hope

A timely piece that tackles about the possibility of this particular phenomenon to happen and affect most Filipino families; “Ivan” focuses on the perils of an absentee Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) parents, the breaking up of the family, values that eventually lead to drug addiction. 

Ivan is a musical play that tackles the issue of drug addiction. It is produced by West Negros University with Globe Telecom in cooperation with WNU-National Service Training Program (NSTP) led by Dr. Rey T. Eslabon, Western Visayas Regional NSTP Coordinators Association Inc. and Center for the Performing Arts and Culture, among others. 

 The play will be held for free on November 26, 2011, 3:00PM at the LN Agustin Memorial Sports Center. 

Kalingaw: Ang Teatro Hiligaynon artistic director, Ismael “Maeng” Java also directed the play expressed that Ivan was shelved and was only awakened, recently after a two-year snooze. All the Hiligaynon songs like Panganduhoy and Nagasingkal nga Agalon and 11 others are originally composed by Kalingaw’s Musical Team; John Rovic G. Solanoy, Mark Aries Fuentes and Java himself under the musical direction of Caesar Pacalioga. 

Ivan is the winning entry of West Negros University to the Youth Events Grant sponsored by Globe Telecom. 

Journey with Ivan as he face the realities of life, breathe with him, live with him, experience his defeat as he falls and savor the victory with him as he survives life’s intricate trials.*

As part of its annual tradition, West Negros University this year is collecting all the little hopes every Wesnecan can share for the community through the “Be A Star This Christmas” project. 

Time flies so fast and Christmas is just around the bend reminding us once again the goodness of God and to remember all the blessings that keep on pouring in for us for the past years.

  WESNECAN Receives 2011 Outstanding Mechanical Engineer Award
2 More Recognition in Regional Invention Contest

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) awarded West Negros University’s (WNU) dean as one of the outstanding mechanical engineer during its 59th Annual National Convention, held last October 21, 2011 at Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City.

WNU-College of Engineering dean, Engr. Dioscoro Marañon was chosen as one of The Outstanding Mechanical Engineer (TOME) in the field of research for 2011.
