It was a blessed afternoon of praise and worship as the Wesnecan community gathered in the gym to be ministered by the Houston's First Baptist Church (HFBC) who came as part of their “Keep Up With The Mission Trip To The Philippines.”

More than 120 members of the Choir and Orchestra team of HFBC shared their God-given talent in a concert that was held about 5PM, Monday, June 18, 2012 at LNAM Sports Center with an estimated 1,200 in attendance composed of students, faculty, and members of the administration and guests of West Negros University.

Through the music ministry the members were able to touch the lives of the people in the congregation who came in a Divine appointment and become blessed.

John Bolin, team leader in his blog states “The songs selected for the concert were mainly one's with solos and something happened that doesn't usually happen for sure.  Every time one of the soloists started to sing they were greeted immediately with applause from the crowd.  As I said in a previous blog, the people here are so appreciative of us being here it is amazing and frankly pretty humbling.  We take so

much for granted!  One of the local town leaders said that this was a ‘once in a lifetime event for the town.’ That made me stops and think of what this meant to the people that were here.”

A personal story was shared by Bob Caldwell and offered everyone an opportunity to respond to the invitation of Christ. There were 25 who made their first profession of faith with a total of 49 who came forward for ministry. The choir and the orchestra went back out into the audience and circled the gym floor again during the invitation and prayers were said for them.*
