recently
held its
General
Convocation
last
July 2,
2010
from 9AM
to 12
Noon at
LN
Agustin
Memorial
Sports
Center
with the
theme;
Projecting
the
Wesnecan
Image.
The
assembly
was
specifically
held to
welcome
the
newest
members
of the
Wesnecan
family;
the
freshmen
and
transferees
to
introduce
them to
the
administrators,
faculty
pool,
staff
and
other
students.
Dr. Cleo
Grace T.
Hinaut,
Vice-President
for
Academic
Affairs
expressed
that
“from
the
moment
you
enter
and
become
part of
the West
Negros
University
community,
you will
be
immersed
in an
extraordinary
educational
environment.”
“Our
goal is
to
provide
you a
high-quality,
highly-relevant
and
uniquely-supportive
educational
experience
that
will
prepare
you for
a
successful
life and
career,”
she
added.
An
audio-visual
presentation
was
played
before
the
assembly
showing
the
history
of the
school
from its
conception
until it
attains
the
university
status,
its
milestones
and the
significant
people –
past and
present,
behind
West
Negros
University.
A
competition
among
student
representatives
dubbed
as
Portrayal
of Image
Building
was
participated
by the
different
colleges
with the
Hospitality
Management
students
of the
College
of
Business
and
Management
adjudged
as the 1st
placer
followed
by the
College
of
Nursing
and
Allied
Health
Sciences
and
College
of
Education
in the 2nd
and 3rd
place,
respectively.
Judges
during
the
competition
include;
Dr.
Nomer
Mangulabnan
(RDEO),
Mrs. Ma.
Luna
dela
Cerna (HRDO)
and Dr.
Christine
Julom (AIPRO).
Finally,
Dr.
Hinaut
expressed
confidence
that
West
Negros
University
can
provide
the
necessary
training
and
education
the
students
need to
live
happily
and work
productively.
“We do
this in
the
belief
that the
best
environment
in which
to learn
is one
that
only a
university
can
provide.
An
environment
where
you are
not just
a mere
representation,
but a
recognized
individual
who is a
vital
and
indispensable
part of
a very
special
community
dedicated
to
learning
and
service,”
she
added.
Welcome
to an
environment
that is
every
bit as
much a
home as
it is a
university.
