WNU Shares Light to Bacoleños
Added: December 08, 2009

Every year for 15 years, the Wesnecan community continues to share its light to the Bacoleños through the annual “Parade of Lights” led by the University President.

Dr. Suzette Lilian A. Agustin, WNU President earlier expressed that the Parade of Lights is the gift of West Negros University to the whole community as Christ Himself being the light of the world radiates His goodness to all.

The Wesnecan lights signify hope, peace and joy which will be displayed in a procession from the Bacolod City Public Plaza to WNU. The activity will be participated by the students, faculty, staff and members of the administration, said Daisy Mae Octavio – Physical Education Director.

The “Parade of Lights” which is a brainchild of Dr. Agustin is making a tangible statement to the community, a statement of faith and commitment giving emphasis on the Wesnecans willingness to march not for an earthly cause, not to complain but to share the light of Christmas to the people of Bacolod.

The parade will start from the Bacolod City Public Plaza, Rizal, Lacson, Burgos and Malaspina Sts. and assembled at WNU football field.

Designs vary from Christmas tree, angels, candles and flowers, among others. Lanterns will also be judged according to artistry, lighting effects, designs and craftsmanship. * (rrm/aipro)
