the 35th
Campus
Journalism
Seminar-Workshop
spearheaded
by the
Philippine
Information
Agency (PIA)
6-Western
Visayas
held
last
July
28-30,
2010 at
Iloilo
Grand
Hotel in
Iloilo
City.
Among
the
citations
given to
TWT
were;
Best in
Online
Journalism,
Honorable
in Page
Design
and the
Promising
Photojournalist
Award -
Individual
Category
to
Theonikko
del
Mundo,
TWT’s
Associate
Editor.
More
than 300
delegates
from the
different
schools
in the
region
attended
the
annual
seminar-workshop
with the
theme
“Campus
Paper
Writers
in the
Realm of
Community
Building.”
The
activity
was
conducted
to equip
campus
paper
writers
with the
basic
skills
and
knowledge
in
journalism,
photojournalism
and
other
related
skills,
online
journalism
including
blogging
and
photo-blogging
and to
develop
in each
participant
the
appreciation
of
campus
journalism
as a
tool for
development.
This
year’s
seminar-workshop
was
partnered
by SMART
Communications
with
their
representatives
who
discussed
Online
Campus
Journalism
Advocacy
and
focused
on cyber
laws,
ethics,
blogging
and
journ.ph
platform,
among
others.
In
addition,
the TWT
also
participated
in the 4th
Annual
National
School
Press
Advisers
Movement
(SPAM)
Inc.
Convention
held at
Casa
Pilar
Resort
in
Boracay
with the
theme; “
Cool
Media:
Empowering
Campus
Journalists
towards
Public
Critical
Involvement.”
The
event
was
hosted
by Aklan
Catholic
College.
