Energy Conservation

This project focuses on campaigns towards reduction of energy consumption which includes promotion of energy saving practices, energy audit and use of renewable energy. It will also adapt energy efficient construction designs.

What's the big deal with energy efficiency?

Saving energy can, at times, be a discouraging endeavor. We may find ourselves faced with a choice of sacrificing a measure of convenience or comfort in order to achieve substantial energy savings. Other times we may become frustrated when our efforts are seemingly negated by the wasteful practices of others. It is these cases in particular where we should try to focus on why so much emphasis is put on energy conservation in the first place. With fossil fuel prices soaring to record highs, population explosions adding demand to our already strained electrical grids, and a little situation called climate change, we not only need more energy to meet our existing demand, but more sustainable sources of electricity. Renewable energy is a different story altogether though. The Green Campus Program is dedicated to the belief that the cheapest and cleanest source of energy is CONSERVATION.
