RLE Policies
 

 GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. Requirements for each area of exposure should be duly signed, accomplished before proceeding to the next area of assignment.

2. Completion of the required number of hours for RLE should be observed.

3. Prescribed RLE uniform should be worn in every area of assignment.

4. Necessary duty paraphernalia must be part of the complete uniform.

5. RLE handbook/ booklet should be with the student when on duty.

 REPORTING TIME/ WAIVER:

1. Waiver should be passed and duly signed by guardian/s or student of legal age must be submitted to the adviser before clinical area exposure. A student who cannot submit a waiver will not be allowed to go on duty in the area specified.

2. Students reporting time should be 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

 ABSENCE/ TARDINESS

Absence – failure to report on duty in the clinical area for reasons, which may be either excused or unexcused. Reporting to duty past the 15 minutes allowable for tardiness is considered as an unexcused absence.

Excused Absence – an absence incurred due to Illness, Force Majeure and Attendance to an official school function and important professional function approved by the Dean.

 

1. 

 

Illness – an excuse slip with a medical certificate duly signed by the attending physician countersigned by the school physician and duly signed by the Dean.
2. 
Death (3 days excused absence) – immediate members of the family supported by pertinent documents.
3. 
Force Majeure – typhoons, floods, earthquake, fire or any circumstances which makes it impossible to report on duty. A document to support should be presented duly signed by the Dean.
4. 
Absence due to official function/ important professional function – pertinent document(s) presented duly signed by the direct supervisor and the Dean.

Unexcused Absence
– any absence incurred that do not qualify as excused nor considered as valid are as follows:
1. 
Attending personal or family functions such as reunions, weddings or similar forms of gatherings.
2. 
Reporting on duty 15 minutes after the time without reasonable cause.
3. Incomplete paraphernalia and duty uniform.
4. Leaving the area before the scheduled end of duty without valid cause.
 

 MAKE-UP DUTIES/ REDEMPTIONS

1 day excused absence = 1 day make up duty
1 day unexcused absence = 2 day unexcused absence
3x 15 minutes tardy = 1 day excused absence
3x lack paraphernalia = 1 day unexcused absence
Leaving the area midway = 2 days make up duty

Make up duty for the same special area where absence is made shall be properly scheduled by the level coordinator.

One day make-up duty is equivalent to eight hours duty.
