West Negros University subscribes to
the tenet that the best education is
that which best prepares the youth
to be good members of society and
that the nurture and tutelage of the
person is a calling and a noble
trust.
Wesnecans are therefore taught to
believe:
That faith in God gives purpose,
meaning and fulfillment in
human life;
That human life, welfare and freedom
are sacred manifestations
of Divine Providence
and must, therefore, be so valued
and treasured;
That social contracts and democratic
institutions exist for the
benefit and betterment
of man and the realization of the
aspirations and
destiny;
That personal dignity and
honor is above life;
That service to the country
and people is above self;
That personal discipline is
the foundation of social order and
progress;
That government must be of
laws and not of men;
That academic freedom must be
exercised with normal
responsibility and
ethical restraint; and
That man is a part of the
natural order and must, therefore,
respect and conserve
the environment and its ecology so
that it may, in turn,
nurture and preserve it for
posterity.
